Don't save a prayer any longer: Duran Duran thought they were finished last year

Duran Duran, in a shocking admission to Britain's Sky News, believed their 30-year music career was finished in 2011 when lead singer Simon Le Bon lost his voice on tour.

"We started the tour in February 2011 and about three months in I lost my voice in the middle of a show and didn't get it back again for another three months," Le Bon said. "I had a bleed on my vocal folds, a hemorrhage. It required a lot of rest and a holiday with the family."

Thankfully, the band restarted the tour and now is preparing to perform at the opening of the 2012 Summer Games. Still, what a close call!

"It was one of those moments when you think: 'Is this it? Is it all over after 30 years?' drummer Roger Taylor said. "It was a pretty scary moment for the band because he's the one guy you can't replace."
