Ferris Bueller signs up for NBC pilot



Ferrisbueller "Matthew Broderick, you're my hero." The face of Ferris Bueller has signed on to appear in an NBC comedy pilot called Beach Lane.

In it, Broderick will play a celebrity author hired by a millionaire to run a tiny newspaper in the Hamptons.

The Hollywood Reporter says Broderick has been courted by networks for years to star in a show. He only committed to Beach Lane after reading the final script.

Lorne Michaels is the executive producer. Paul Simms (News Radio) is the writer.

No word yet on when the pilot would be filmed or air.
