From 'First Blood' to 'Fifth Blood'? Another Rambo sequel in the works
Another Rambo movie? Hollywood better have a big supply of body bags on hand if this movie goes south.
Variety.com reports that Nu Image/Millennium Films has approved a fifth installment of the series, with Sylvester Stallone starring and directing.
It's been so long since the original trilogy -- 1982's First Blood, 1985's First Blood II and 1988's Rambo III -- that we've long forgotten the plot behind Sly's work. So he's a boxer in these, right? Or a rogue cop? Or a country music singer? No? Oh, that's right -- disgruntled Vietnam vet.
According to Variety, the new movie will be revolve around "Rambo fighting his way through human traffickers and drug lords to rescue a young girl abducted near the U.S.-Mexico border." How contemporary.
Last year's Rambo sequel did pretty well at the box office, so a fifth movie was a given. But still, I think I'd rather sit through Rhinestone 2 than another Rambo flick. How about Victory 2? Maybe Stallone could teach soccer to a bunch of soldiers in an Al-Qaeda prison camp.Hollywood, are you still reading me? Company leader to Raven! Acknowledge!
