Forget the Careless Whispers! Worry more about George Michael's careless driving
Let's play a game. Name an '80s singer. (Okay, too broad.) A British one. (That narrows it down to a few hundred.) One in trouble with the law. (Okay, so Boy George maybe?) One who's just been arrested again on suspicion of being unfit to drive.
Ah yes, it can only be George Michael. The 47-year-old was arrested Sunday in London after reports that a car he was driving crashed into a building, reports BBC News.
Michael has since made bail and has been released.
According to MTV.com, "Sky News reported that police arrested the pop star after viewing closed-circuit TV footage of his Range Rover jumping a curb and smashing into the Snappy Snaps shop in Hampstead around 3:30 a.m., reportedly after attending London's gay pride parade."
Lest you think I'm picking on Michael, remember the former Wham! frontman only recently regained driving privileges after a two-year suspension on charges of driving while unfit due to drugs. (Michael is an admitted heavy pot smoker, according to several media reports.) Three times in 2006, he was found passed out in car with drugs in his possession. Overall, the latest arrest is his seventh driving-related accident for Michael, according to MTV. (In 2008, he was arrested in a public restroom with drugs, but escaped any charges.)
