Fourth rule about Gremlins: Never remake an '80s classic (too late!)

Do you remember the three rules about caring for a Mogwai? Anyone who saw 1984's Gremlins should know this. 1. Never expose it to sunlight. 2. Never get it wet. 3. Never feed it after midnight.
Hollywood obviously has been feeding its screenwriters after midnight again because we've just learned a reboot of Gremlins could be coming soon. Vulture.com reports that Warner Bros. is talking with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment on such a project.
It's hard to imagine Spielberg going from Lincoln to Gremlins, but odder things have happened in Hollywood. Surely having his name attached will get the ball rolling. Until then, "Bye-bye, Billy!"
