Funeral plans "pending" for Gary Coleman

Coleman It's been 10 days since '80s actor Gary Coleman died in a Utah hospital. Are we any closer to seeing an end to this sad story? Maybe. The executor of Gary Coleman's estate said Saturday that Coleman's funeral arrangements are "pending."

According to CNN and Entertainment Tonight, Coleman designated Dion Mial as the executor of his estate in a will drawn up in 1999. The longtime friend and manager said ex-wife Shannon Price "has absolutely no rights or authority, with regard to the disposition of Gary's remains, services, [and] estate management."

Finally, we're getting somewhere. (Meanwhile, we haven't heard much more from Gary's estranged parents, who were fighting to have him buried in his hometown of Zion, Ill.)

"Not only am I saying goodbye to a friend, but I'm saying goodbye to my brother," Mial told CNN. "I will not allow my selfish grief to eclipse the unspeakable joy that Gary brought to me and to my family for the last 32 years. I'm as equally and passionately committed to honor his memory, as I was always so committed to his destiny in life."

According to Entertainment Tonight, Coleman's body is at Lake Hill Mortuary in Sandy, Utah until definitive funeral arrangements are made. It's been rumored that Coleman might be buried in Forest Lawn, outside Los Angeles, where many other celebrities have been laid to rest.
