Go-Go's cancel farewell tour after Jane Wiedlin hurts knee
Oh no! The Go-Go's have canceled their farewell tour after guitarist Jane Wiedlin injured her knee in a hiking accident, according to Spinner.com.
That includes canceling their July 10 date at St. Petersburg's Tropicana Field, the Tampa Bay Rays confirmed today.
"The band is heartbroken and hopes their fans will send best wishes for Jane's speedy recovery," the group wrote in a statement. "It is with great regret that the Go-Go's announce today the cancellation of Happily Ever After, their summer farewell tour."
Wiedlin's accident reportedly occurred weeks ago, when she fell 20 feet near her Northern California home. But her recovery hasn't gone smoothly and she's now set for an ACL replacement surgery for her knee, which could require a year's recovery time.
For now, the Rays will keep July 10 as an "open date" but we're hoping another worthy '80s band will take the Go-Go's place!
