Guns N' Roses' Axl Rose hates the world (and the feeling is mutual)
From the Guns N' Roses official MySpace page: "Axl Rose, lead singer for the legendary rock group Guns N' Roses, was unhurt last evening when he was accosted by an unruly group of paparazzi at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). … Mr. Rose, who was about to enter a security checkpoint at LAX when the altercation took place, was approached by a group of unchecked and unruly photographers who became aggressive with the singer and female members of the traveling group. Mr. Rose was not injured during the unprovoked attack and was able to board his flight without further incident.”
Of course, this entire statement may be a lie. Here's another posting today on the same page:
"Axl Rose denies releasing press statement regarding rumored LAX incident. 'I did not release any statement or authorize either any statement or anyone to release a statement regarding anything at any airport anywhere.' "
To rephrase in a more truthful manner: An '80s rocker whose best work is now 20 years old seemingly out of the blue attacked a photographer who was probably there to stalk a much more relevant celebrity.
According to PollStar, Rose was on his way to Taiwan, where his band was to play its first show in support of Chinese Democracy, an album that's nearly 2 years old.
Seriously. Why is this guy not at the top of our list of '80s artists we'd like to see jettisoned into outer space?
