Happily ever after: 'Faerie Tale Theatre' comes to Hulu
One more reason to love Hulu: The free online service now offers episodes of Faerie Tale Theatre, Showtime's live-action children's series in the '80s.
The series was conceived by Shelley Duvall, who served as producer, host and narrator. The entire series lasted a little over 20 episodes from 1982 to 1987 and featured plenty of killer guest spots by '80s icons such as Christopher Reeve, Susan Sarandon, Carrie Fisher and Matthew Broderick.
Duvall reportedly came up with the idea while filming Popeye with Robin Williams. (Williams would appear in the piloot episode of the series.)
It's pretty hard to find a complete collection of the episodes. There are VHS and DVD box sets floating around, but they all seem to have an episode or two missing. The Hulu series, likewise, doesn't have every episode, but at least the price is right.
