Harrison Ford ready to reprise Han Solo role, make Kessel run in less than 10 parsecs this time

han-solo-star-wars-characters-24135926-500-375.jpgWhen George Lucas turned the keys to the Star Wars kingdom over to Disney, we expected a lot of bizarre reports. So just how surprised are you to learn that some scruffy-looking, nerf-header from the '80s is ready to return to the screen as Han Solo? Yes, Harrison Ford is open to idea of playing his old role in the upcoming sequel, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"Harrison is open to the idea of doing the movie and he’s upbeat about it, all three of them are," said one highly placed source, referring to Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher.

That's a little surprising, notes EW's Geoff Boucher, because Ford (now 70 years old) has recently been cold in interviews when asked about his iconic character. "As a character he was not so interesting to me," Ford said in an ABC interview in 2010, adding that Lucas should have killed off the character in Return of the Jedi.

Hey, it's not too late. The Tatooine government is still getting inconclusive results on tests about carbonite freeing aftereffects.

Suffice to say Ford would be attracted by the sequel's presumably huge paycheck, but EW says the actor is also intrigued that Lucas won't be running the show anymore. Still, don't expect Han Solo to drop his cargo anytime before a script and director are in place.
