It's not Three's Company without Furley

The world lost a great man and actor with the loss of Don Knotts. And Jack, Janet and Chrissy lost their landlord ... Mr. Furley.

Anyone else forget that Knotts was Ralph Furley on Three's Company? Knotts joined the cast of the quirky sit-com from 1979 to 1984. He replaced Normal Fell, who played the original apartment landlord (Stanley Roper) for the first two seasons. (My younger sister loved this TV show so much, she wrote a term paper arguing the genius of the writing. And as the pro journalist older brother, I was forced to copy-edit it. Very painful.)

Together with John Ritter, Joyce DeWitt and Suzanne Somers, Knotts scored major laughs as the leisure-suited, scarf-adorned "ladies man."

Some quick trivia question for Three's Company fans:
1. The show is based on what British series?
2. What did Jack's friend Larry do for a living?
3. Jack had a poster of what rock band above his bed?
4. The show had two spin-offs. Can you name them?
