Jabba in 3-D? Truly the dark side of the force
"A long, long time ago, in a galaxy no longer in 2-D?" Wait. Wait. How about "May the Force by 3-D!" Jeesh, there's absolutely no appropriately geeky way to announce that all six Star Wars movies are being converted into 3-D format by Lucasfilm.
The movies will be rereleased in 2012, we think, in sequential order. That means suffering with Jar-Jar Binks again in Phantom Menace and two other soul-sucking installments before we can relive A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
"There are few movies that lend themselves more perfectly to 3-D; from the Death Star trench run to the Tatooine Podrace, the Star Wars Saga has always delivered an entertainment experience that is completely immersive," says a statement on starwars.com. "The cutting-edge conversion will take that immersion to the next thrilling level."
What about Leia's metal slave bikini? Come on, guys. Focus!
