James Gammon

James Gammon appeared in a ton of '80s flicks -- Silver Bullet, Urban Cowboy, Silverado among them. But to most '80s fans, he'll always be known as Lou Brown, manager of the worst-to-first Cleveland Indians, in 1989's Major League.

Gammon passed away Friday in California at age 70. He had cancer of the adrenal glands and the liver, according to the L.A. Times.

Before you write him off as a character actor, let me add that Gammon also co-founded the MET Theater in Los Angeles and won numerous L.A. Drama Critics Circle Awards for his work.

Still, I know what you want for today's top 5 list...
