John Cusack, Chevy Chase not jumping into 'Hot Tub Time Machine' sequel
Don't believe those movie reviews (except for mine): Hot Tub Time Machine was a delight. And it's obviously popular enough with '80s fans that a sequel is finally in the works.
The Hollywood Reporter says MGM is in "exploratory talks" with Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson and Clark Duke to reprise their roles for another round. But so far, John Cusack and Chevy Chase aren't on board. Which forces the question: Does anyone really want to see Hot Tub Time Machine 2 without Cusack?
(Maybe. Corddry was the funniest. Just bring back one-armed Crispin Glover and we're good.)
So why make a franchise out of a movie that has a mediocre 63% "fresh rating" on Rotten Tomatoes? Because while the flick barely covered its cost at the box office, it made a fortune in DVD sales and rentals.
If you're still in doubt, the Huffington Post has a great list of 4 reasons to see a Hot Tub Time Machine sequel.
