John Cusack recreates boombox scene at Peter Gabriel concert
Lloyd Dobler never stops amazing us. Eighties hero John Cusack surprised everyone by showing up on stage with a boombox to re-enact his famous scene from Say Anything during Peter Gabriel's concert this weekend in Hollywood.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Gabriel held the box over his head before beginning In Your Eyes. Particularly shocked was the movie's director, Cameron Crowe, who was there in the audience.
"Peter Gabriel and John Cusack on stage (at the) Hollywood Bowl tonight. Won't forget that... ever," Crowe tweeted.
Cusack replied, "And I will never forget Cameron... If I were u (sic) I would follow Cameron Crowe and occasionally suggest we work together again - was so happy to see him last night at Gabriel."
Cusack has generally been reluctant over the last couple decades to recognize his famous roles from the '80s. But in interviews, he seems to have a warm spot in his heart for the 1989 movie he did with Crowe.
