John Cusack's "Dare to be great" situation

Sayanything "Lloyd Dobler" has decided to take a stand. Not for "Diane Court" this time. But against John McCain. (Guess he doesn't want to sell anything Republican, buy anything Republican or process or repair anything Republican.)

John Cusack stars in two new political commercials that attack the presumptive GOP presidential candidate for his stands on the Iraq war. In the first commercial, Cusack challenges viewers to see if they can tell the difference between the policies of President Bush and McCain.

"I know my opinion doesn't matter more than anyone else's and I just make films," Cusack told the Associated Press. "[But] I'm not going to pretend this thing in Iraq was some kind of free market utopia to spread the gospel of democracy through the Middle East."

Cusack's latest film -- "War Inc." -- echoes a similar theme, but the actor who dazzled us with 80s flicks like "Say Anything," "Tapeheads" and "Better Off Dead" admits this is his first big foray into politics. The commercials were filmed for MoveOn.org, and Cusack donated his time, according to MoveOn's website.
