J.R. Ewing to die too this season on 'Dallas'
J.R. Ewing is about to join actor Larry Hagman in the great South Fork in the sky. According to TVLine.com, the infamous Dallas villain gets his own funeral on the TNT show on March 11.
Hagman had completed all his acting work for the second season of the Dallas reboot prior to his death in November at age 81. But show producers felt they couldn't just let his TV alter-ego J.R. Ewing ride off into the sunset without a proper send-out, so the season's storyline has been altered to include the death and funeral of the Ewing family.
The funeral scene is rumored to include other veterans of the 1980s version of the TV show, some of whom didn't return to the reboot. The new season begins Jan. 28.
