Just kill me now: New Kids, Backstreet Boys touring together
First let's just tear the band-aid off quickly: New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys have decided to tour together. MTV broke the tragic news.
"Ryan Seacrest, being the pop culture god that he is, broke the news on Wednesday (November 3)," MTV said. "It wasn't only piece of information that sent boy band-loving fans' hearts aflutter, as Seacrest also confirmed that all of the members of both groups will be performing together on the American Music Awards on Sunday, November 21."
Hearts aflutter? I'm pretty sure that was acid reflux. The way I look at it, NKOTB was the angel of death for the '80s, bringing on the scourge of boy bands and lip-synching girl acts of the '90s. In fact, I personally believe there are less than seven degrees of separation between New Kids and Jersey Shore. But I'm saving that for a master's thesis.
On the good side: When that tour hits your town, everyone with bad taste in music will be in the same place at the same time. Just clamp a lock on that arena door once the show starts and all your problems are solved.
