Listen to first Big Country single in 12 years

Big CountryBig Country is back with a new single -- Another Country -- and it features the lead vocals of Mike Peters of The Alarm. The band says they're sold on keeping Peters as part of a "permanent lineup" (after the 2001 suicide of Stuart Adamson).

"We are 100 percent dedicated and intent on making this new line up a permanent one," guitarist Bruce Watson says on the band's official website. "We can finally look forward to completing unfinished business from the past, particularly internationally, and look to a creative and active future."

The official release date is Aug. 29, and right now it will be only a digital download. According to the always great Slicing Up Eyeballs website, it's produced by Steve Lillywhite, who handled the band's epic albums The Crossing and Steeltown.

"When I heard the demo of their new song I was impressed on first listen," Lillywhite said. "I am looking forward to working with the band again whom I last worked with in the 80s on one of my favourite albums I have ever produced - The Crossing."
