Live Aid to become TV movie this fall
Live Aid is about to become a TV movie. Filming has already begun in Dublin, Ireland, for When Harvey met Bob, which will follow Irish rocker Bob Geldof after he "arrived home to find his then girlfriend Paula Yates holding their baby and weeping as she watched television footage from feeding camps in Eritrea," according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Who's Harvey? That'd be music promoter Harvey Goldsmith, who co-organized the July 13, 1985, concert held primarily in London and Philadelphia. The 16-hour event reached a global audience of about 1.5 billion people and was designed to raise funds and awareness to fight starvation in Africa.
Geldof will be played by Domhnall Gleeson, probably best known for playing Bill Weasley in the Harry Potter movies. It's expected to air on British and Irish television in the fall.
