Lost and found: 2012 is just a 'Fantasy'

There are a few of us that believe Side A of 1981’s self-titled Aldo Nova album was the most brilliant side of a cassette ever played in the Hillcrest High School parking lot in the ‘80s. Leading off Side A was the single Fantasy that reached No. 23 on the charts in 1982.

A litmus test for your car/truck stereo speakers, the intro to Fantasy is classic with sounds of shots fired, helicopters, a screaming eagle, synths and lasers before plunging into the great guitar riff. The video highlights begin and end with Aldo Nova and his leopard jump suit.

After the ‘80s, Nova abandoned the hard rock scene and turned more to writing and producing. He won a Grammy with fellow Canadian Celine Dion and penned the No. 1 song This Is the Night for Clay Aiken in 2003. (No, I’ve never heard the song either)
