Michael J. Fox, where are you? MTV casts 4 nobodies in 'Teen Wolf' remake
Michael J. Fox was having the summer of his life back in 1985 when Back to the Future and Teen Wolf both hit the big screen within a month of each other. Already a veteran of three seasons as "Alex P. Keaton" in TV's Family Ties, Fox and his stardom didn't sneak up on anyone.
Fast forward to this week and turn your attention MTV (for old time's sake only) and their casting announcement for the NEW version of Teen Wolf.
Drum roll please: "Tyler Posey, Tyler Hoechlin, Crystal Reed and Dylan O'Brien -- welcome to the big time." (cricket, cricket.) Okay, let's try this. "Welcome to Trivial Pursuit -- Fantastically Boring 00s Edition!"
Posey is set to play the lead in Teen Wolf. It'd be cool if he was the younger brother of Parker Posey (he isn't.) Crave an '80s connection? Tyler is the son of John Posey, the actor who played "Danny Tanner" in the pilot episode of Full House. (Bob Saget would get the role later for the actual series.)
For what it's worth, Posey's TV series credits include Lincoln Heights and Brothers & Sisters. (Oh, and I think the Academy really dissed him for not honoring his work for playing "Boy" in 2000's Men of Honor.)
And you thought Jason Bateman and 1987's Teen Wolf Too were bad.
