Midge Ure, Ultravox plan North American tours
Midge Ure is planning a rare solo tour of the U.S. that will pave the way for a tour of his '80s band Ultravox. And yeah, that's a pretty big deal, even though Midge isn't coming anywhere near Florida.
Ure, as people ought to remember, was the co-writer and producer of Band Aid's Do They Know It's Christmas as well as the co-organizer of Live Aid. Nevermind, of course, that he also denounced the charity single as the worst song he'd ever written -- he later said it was the "momentum of the artists" that finally gave it the magic it needed.
Anyhow, according to Slicingupeyeballs.com, the reunited ’80s-era lineup of Ultravox — Ure, Billy Currie, Chris Cross and Warren Cann — also has a "comeback album" called Brilliant, and could follow Ure over to North America once they finish up a tour in Europe.
