More winds of change: Scorpions call it quits after 45 years

This is going to rock you like a hurricane (Come on, you knew that was coming): Germany's hard-rocking Scorpions have decided to call it quits after 45 years.

"We are extremely grateful for the fact that we still have the same passion for music we’ve always had since the beginning," the band announced on its website. "This is why, especially now, we agree we have reached the end of the road."

Guitarist Rudolf Schenker, who founded the band in Hannover in 1965, and lead singer Klaus Meine are both 61 years old now. So it shouldn't be a huge surprise. And don't worry. They're not going to say goodbye without a final album and world tour.

Sting In The Tail will be released in March, followed by a tour in Germany in May. A world tour is also in the works and could last several years. You can listen to snippets of the new album on their MySpace page.
