Nike actually making Marty McFly's self-lacing shoes from 'Back to the Future'
Great Scott! Nike is actually manufacturing Marty McFly Nike Air Mag shoes from the Back to the Future movies. Can the hoverboard and Cafe '80s -- where it's always morning in America -- be far behind?
According to Nicekicks.com, Nike Innovative Kitchen already filed patent papers for a shoe with an automatic lacing system, as seen in 1989's Back to the Future II. The movie was set in 2015. Could that be the release date for these shoes as well?
"If this technology is to be used in the form of a Marty McFly inspired sneaker it would be the definition of game changer; the perfect intersection between performance and nostalgia," Nicekicks.com wrote.
Nike has scheduled a press conference for tonight in Los Angeles. So stay tuned. This could be heavy.
