No pressure here: Best duets of the 80s

Bowiemercury What was it about the 80s that encouraged seemingly polar-opposite musicians to join forces and crank out duets? Kenny Rogers and Sheena Easton? Art of Noise and Tom Jones? Run DMC and Aerosmith? (Well, not Kenny Loggins and Steve Perry -- those two are like hirsute cousins from the same pop-rock gene pool.)

Behold, the official Stuck in the 80s list of the Best Duets of the 80s. To build the list, we asked for reader suggestions, and we received a ton. (We also received plenty of suggestions for the "Worst Duets" -- so expect that list soon enough.)

Not all the experimentation worked out so well, it turns out. The top 5 is loaded with acts that were far more similar than different. Just goes to show that sometimes -- even in the 80s -- people could over-think the simplest of things. (Must be all those Pudding Pops numbing the brain.)
