A remake of 1987's Overboard, which starred Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn and was directed by Garry Marshall, is in the works. That, surprisingly, is the good news.

The bad news: Jennifer Lopez is in talks to star in it, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

But when you really think of it, Lopez fits the bill. The original movie is about a stuck-up, spoiled woman (check) who falls off her yacht (we can only hope) and is rescued (nooo!) only to wake up with amnesia (maybe she'll forget she's trying to be a singer.)

No word yet on who'd have to inherit Russell's role as the carpenter who claims her in order to get a free made for his family of mischievous boys. (Anybody but Marc Anthony, please.)
