Overpaid actors: Eddie Murphy tops Forbes' list

harlem_nights.jpgThings have gotten so bad for Eddie Murphy at the box office, we're actually pining away for the days of Best Defense and Harlem Nights. Forbes magazine estimates that for every dollar Murphy was paid for his last three films (Imagine That, Tower Heist, A Thousand Words), the movies only returned an average of $2.30 at the box office.

That makes Murphy the most overpaid actor of 2012. Axel Foley would be ashamed. Or maybe not. Axel did like a con as much as the next guy.

He's not the only actor with '80s ties that make Forbes' top 10 list of the most overpaid actors: He's joined by Nicolas Cage, Denzel Washington and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Last year, when Murphy turned 50 years old, I ranked his movies from bottom to top. Here's the list in case you missed it:
