Play 'Candy Colored Clown' ... Dennis Hopper dies at age 74
Dennis Hopper, who belongs to no one decade, died Saturday at age 74. He had been suffering from prostate cancer.
Hopper was incredibly prolific in the '80s, cranking out movies just about every year. Still, he'll probably remain best known to '80s fans for his roles in David Lynch's Blue Velvet, the basketball flick Hoosiers and the horror sequel Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.
Times film critic Steve Persall has written an excellent tribute to Hopper. Click here to read it.
In the meantime, one final top 5 tribute for Mr. Hopper.
TOP 5 DENNIS HOPPER MOVIES OF THE '80s:
5. RIVER'S EDGE (1986): "I killed a girl, it was no accident. Put a gun to the back of her head and blew her brains right out the front. I was in love. "

3. RUMBLEFISH (1983): "No, your mother... is not crazy. And neither, contrary to popular belief, is your brother crazy. He's merely miscast in a play. 2. HOOSIERS (1986): "Now, boys, don't get caught watchin' the paint dry!"
1. BLUE VELVET (1986): "Don't toast to my health, toast to my f---!"
