Bret Michaels could very well be the next full-time judge on American Idol. The '80s rocker, who performed during the show's finale this season against doctors' wishes, told fans at a Biloxi, Miss., concert that he's in the running to replace outgoing judge Simon Cowell.

"I can't say this is true yet, cause I don't know," he said in video footage taped by TMZ. "Next year they asked me to possibly be the judge on American Idol."

Would he be a good fit? TV Guide readers seem to think so: 68 percent say Michaels is the right pick to replace Cowell, according to an online poll.
