Prepare yourself for the greatest John Cusack interview ever!

Cusack At the end of reading Eric Spitznagel's interview in Vanity Fair with '80s god John Cusack, you will no longer feel sorry that Stuck in the '80s didn't land some time with the star of Hot Tub Time Machine.

Spitznagel worked hard and got Cusack to open up, and that's not an easy thing to accomplish.

"During our interview, Cusack spoke in a hushed, barely audible tone, somewhere between brooding and intense," Spitznagel writes. "It was as if he was standing in a rainstorm, talking on a pay phone in some nondescript city, his trench coat getting soaked but dammit, he doesn't care because he's going to finish this interview, even if it is 3 a.m."

I command you to click here and read the full interview. But if you need a little more coaxing, here are some highlights:

On the title of his new movie: "The title is so stupid, it's actually kind of genius. It'll either be the greatest disaster in the history of cinema or it'll be funny."

Is time travel possible: "If you combine Russian sports drinks, rodent myths and Crispin Glover, you will find a time portal."

Would he ever want to revisit the '80s?: "I try not to dwell on the past. I'm not a big go-back-and-try-to-relive-your-past kinda person."

No feelings of nostalgia whatsoever?: "When I think about the 80s, I think about the explosion that happens when you're 18, 19 years old and you feel immortal and like you could conquer the world. And less than the mainstream stuff, I feel nostalgic for the counterculture of the 80s. I'm definitely nostalgic about the music of my youth; The Clash and Fishbone and that whole music scene. I still have all that music to this day."

Seriously, I'm not giving anymore away. Especially not the part about tea-bagging a jar of condiments. After you read that question, you'll add the name of Eric Spitznagel to the pantheon of '80s legends.
