The return of The Jam
Reunion fever is spreading. The latest 80s act to get in on the trend: The Jam. Pollstar.com reports that bassist Bruce Foxton and drummer Rick Buckler will reunite for a 21-city tour of the U.K. beginning in May.
Former frontman Paul Weller hasn't signed onto the reunion but his bandmates would be happy to have him, Pollstar reports. "Paul is always welcome to join us for the reunion, but until then, we've got a tour and a new album to do," Buckler told Pollstar. Instead, they'll rely on Russell Hastings, who led The Paul Weller Council, and add keyboard player Dave Moore to the mix.
Weller's successful solo career may keep him out of The Jam's reunion. Shortly after releasing his eighth solo album in 2006, Weller told the BBC that reunions were "sad."
"Me and my children would have to be destitute and starving in the gutter before I'd even consider that," Weller said.
