Ridley Scott to direct new 'Blade Runner' movie
Ridley Scott is officially on board to direct a new Blade Runner movie. Are the '80s purists happy now? Eh.
"The move does runs counter to a Hollywood mini-trend in which a young director who grew up with a 1980s movie puts his own spin on it — witness Joseph Kosinski and Tron: Legacy last year," the L.A. Times says. "But Scott, for his part, has been rummaging through his own august canon, recently directing the Alien-related follow-up, Prometheus, which comes to theaters in June."
One new piece of information today: The new Blade Runner film won't be a remake; it will be either a prequel or sequel. Now, on THAT issue, I have a preference. Ridley, go for the prequel!
