Rush to play entire 'Moving Pictures' album in upcoming tour, including Tampa stop

Moving pictures "Living in the limelight, the universal dream." Not for me. My universal dream is seeing Rush perform the entirety of their 1981 album Moving Pictures on tour.

And now it's going to happen. The Time Machine Tour will visit about 40 cities throughout North America beginning June 29 in Albuquerque, NM and finishing Oct. 2 in West Palm Beach. That includes a stop in Tampa at the Ford Amphitheatre on Oct. 1.

According to a news release, the band is working on their 20th studio album, so this tour will include a few tunes as well.

“We were off for a year and a half, and now it's just pouring," says guitarist Alex Lifeson. "Everything is totally crazy and there's not a minute left in the day. We've got these half-dozen songs, and we'll probably go in the studio and work on a couple of them and see how it goes, perhaps release something – and I say perhaps – and then we plan on being on the road.”
Moving Pictures turns 30 years old next year and remains the band's biggest selling album, thanks to the hits Tom Sawyer, Limelight and Red Barchetta.
