A shue-in for my 80s hall of fame
Actually, come to think of it, she's had an impressive if quiet career. Remember Adventures in Babysitting? A classic of sorts. And she took over the role 0f Michael J. Fox's girlfriend/wife in the second and third Back to the Future films. (Soapdish, The Saint, and Hollow Man are her highlights from beyond the 80s, along with Leaving Las Vegas, for which she was tapped with an Oscar nomination.) Oh yeah, and don't forget she used to be the "host" for the Body Wars ride at Disney's EPCOT Center. A ride that makes me almost as nauseous as watching Cocktail again.
Her brother Andrew Shue -- Melrose Place fame -- has three roles in his sister's movies: a member of Cobra Kai in Karate Kid, a wedding guest in Cocktail and just a regular extra in Adventures in Babysitting. (Her husband, in case you're curious, is Davis Guggenheim, director of HBO's Deadwood.)
Some people really dig her. Check out this fan site, featuring a screen saver and lookalike contest.
