Susanna Hoffs -- 80s rock vixen

Want to feel really old? Former Bangles vocalist/guitarist Susanna Hoffs turns 47 today. Doesn't seem like she could be that old! The Go-Gos and Bangles were the elite of the 80s girl bands, cranking out hits like Manic Monday and Walk Like an Egyptian. (I'm partial to Hazy Shade of Winter from the Less than Zero soundtrack.)

Hoffs' looks earned her a following outside her music, something she was able to convert into an acting career of sorts. She starred in The Allnighter, a 1987 bomb about college graduation directed by her mom. (Joan Cusack and Pam Grier were the only other notables in the cast.) Yeah, I paid full price to see it. Not my proudest moment. But it had Susanna Hoffs in it! OK?

The Bangles didn't survive the 80s, breaking up in 1989 (though they've since reunited and play the usual circuit of "House of Blues" gigs). And Hoffs' acting career these days is confined to appearances in Austin Powers flicks (playing a member of his band). Hey, as long as she can rock, she's still a celeb in our book!
