'Talk About the Passion?!?' Paste Magazine's Top 20 songs by R.E.M.

Rem They've been called the band of the '80s by some magazines and critics, and R.E.M. surely deserves nearly ever nice word written about them. (Even though sorry, but U2 or Duran Duran feels more like '80s royalty.)

Paste Magazine staged their own tribute to the boys from Athens, Ga., by compiled a top 20 list of R.E.M. songs. I have quibbles with some of their picks -- no way Losing My Religion deserves to be here -- but I was thrilled to see my personal fave -- Cuyahoga - there at No. 17. And I can't argue with their reasoning behind putting Nightswimming in the top 10: "The prettiest song the band ever recorded." (So why not put it No. 1?)
