'Teen Wolf' remake coming to MTV

Teenwolf Here's something to howl over: The remake of 1985's Teen Wolf is being imagined as a TV series for MTV. (Because, you know, they need something to show other than music videos.)

The original version starred Michael J. Fox (with a later, crappier sequel starring the usually great Jason Bateman). MTV's version will also be set in high school, but will focus more on werewolf mythology and teen romance, says the Hollywood Reporter.

"It has more of an American Werewolf in London feel to it," MTV's Liz Gateley told THR. "It has a fresh take and is very different from the original."

That's good, because the original was a little campy -- even by mid-80s standards.

Teen Wolf would join V, Parenthood, St. Elmo's Fire and Heathers as possible TV "reimaginings" -- Hollywood talk for "ripoff" - of classic '80s fare.

One request: Can Michael J. Fox return as the worldly/hirsute dad or uncle as a cameo? At least for the road-surfing scene on top of Stiles' van.
