Tell us your favorite holiday flick
Time for a new list of movies, 80s fans. This time, the topic is obvious: Give us your favorite winter holiday movies of the 80s.
We'll take your nominations, add in a few our own, search the universe for the long-forgotten ones and come up with a full ranking of winners just before Dec. 25. The only qualification? They need to have been released in the 1980s. So even though "A Christmas Story" looked like it was based in the 50s, it was released in 1983 and is surely a top 5 contender.
Some other contenders to sound off on:
- Scrooged (1988): "You've got a program featuring America's favorite old fart. Reading a book in front of a fireplace. Now, I have to kill all of you."
- Santa Claus - The Movie (1985): (Perhaps so bad, it has no memorable quotes)
- One Magic Christmas (1985): "Gideon can make it, so Dad's not dead any more!"
- National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989): "Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?"
Leave us a comment with your favorite movies and check back often as we feud over the finalists like desperate shoppers over a store's last Monchichi.
