They Might Be ... better at children's albums

Tmbg Some consider them a novelty act, but those are fightin' words here at Stuck in the '80s where John Flansburgh and John Linnell are no mere mortals. In fact, They Might Be Giants.

Lately though, the Two Johns seem to be winning more hearts as composers of children's educational programming than their usual quirky electronic fare. Their 2008 kids disc Here Come the 1-2-3s was indeed smarter (or at least more catchy) than the adultish The Else album from the previous year.

The latest project for the wee ones is called Here Comes Science, and it's due in stores Sept. 22. (Though you can buy the tunes now on iTunes.) Our blogging cousins at Whoa Momma have a glowing review of Here Comes Science along with the absolutely fantastiche video for the single I Am A Paleontologist.

If you're still new to TMBG, go relive our interview with the band in a special Stuck in the '80s podcast.
