Thursday earworm: Australian Crawl's 'Errol'

Errol by the classic '80s band Australian Crawl might be my favorite song of the year. (Not THIS year, because it's well established I listen to nothing beyond about, oh, 1987.)

Thanks to the efforts of Stuck in the '80s fan David Featherston, who lives in a land where the beer does flow and the men chunder, I have a sparkly new CD full of Australian music from the '80s. But I can't seem to stop listening to this tune from Australian Crawl.

In a relatively short career (1978 to 1986), the band was the surf rock royalty of Australia. Want another example? Try their biggest hit, Reckless, which went No. 1 in 1983.

In 1996, the Crawl was inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame.

Look for more about the Crawl when Stuck in the '80s finally tackles Australia in the '80s on an upcoming podcast. In the meantime, just click play and sing along: "Oh Errol! I would give everything just to be like him!"
