Time to cheer Stevie Wonder's better ballad of the '80s

Unfortunately, when people think of ‘80s Stevie Wonder songs, they will probably first think of I Just Called To Say I Love You or Ebony and Ivory, which might not be his best offerings.

In 1982, Wonder was still at the top of his game with hitting the charts with singles like That Girl and Do I Do. The third single off the Original Musiquariam album was Ribbon in the Sky. While it stalled at No. 54 on the charts, it still fits nicely among his classic ballads. Stevie sang a personalized version of Ribbon in the Sky at Whitney Houston’s funeral ceremony last year.

Besides his own songs, Stevie Wonder played harmonica on several classic ‘80s tunes, including Elton John’s I Guess That’s Why They Call It the Blues, Eurythmics’ There Must Be An Angel and Chaka Kahn’s I Feel for You.
