10. MY LEFT FOOT (1989): Daniel Day-Lewis surprised everyone by winning the Oscar for Best Actor for his portayal of Christy Brown, an Irish poet/painter who was crippled with cerebral palsy.
Trivia: Daniel Day-Lewis insisted on remaining in his wheelchair in between takes.
