'Top Gun' coming back as 3-D release (That's right! Ice... man. That is dangerous.)
Top Gun is coming out in 3-D?!? Is nothing sacred? Seriously, the '80s nation has put up with a lot over the last few years -- remakes of classic films, sequels of others -- but converting a movie to 3-D always seemed a little too science-fiction for us. Something better saved for today's less classy flicks.
But the Hollywood Reporter says Tony Scott’s 1986 classic, starring Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis, is being converted to 3-D for a new theatrical release.
"A four-minute 'world premiere' preview of the converted film -- featuring the 'Danger Zone' aerial flight sequence -- was screened Monday at the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam," THR reports.
Look for a 2012 release for this "crash and burn" idea.
