Want a remake Hollywood? Try 'Best of Times'
If Hollywood is so intent on remaking every '80s movie, why not start with 1986's The Best of Times? It's begging for it. Sure, it had great actors in Kurt Russell and Robin Williams, but making not the best acting. And its universal theme of redemption -- the ending line of "No, Jack. You were due" gets me every time -- never grows old.
I'd say remake it as a drama and drop the comedy angle entirely. Base it in Florida, because god knows we could use the economic impact. And hire me to spin a little '80s magic on the plot.
I know it's not a movie that makes anyone's top 10 list ... yet. But give it time.
