Way to get back in the headlines, Vinnie Vincent
Former KISS guitarist Vinnie Vincent is having a bad day. The 58-year-old (real name: Vincent Cusano) was arrested Sunday after reportedly hitting his wife in the face, dragging her through her broken glass and maybe possibly having something to do with the death of four dogs. This according to TMZ, which is wrong so often ... actually, they're never wrong, which is why they sorta rule the gossip journalism world these days.
Vincent, as KISS fans know, was the guitarist who replaced Ace Frehley in the '80s. It's his guitar work and songwriting skills you hear on albums like Creatures of the Night and Lick It Up. He was the last guitarist of the original makeup era, dubbing himself the "Ankh Warrior." ("There is ... no ... sanctuary!" Logan's Run fans? Anyone?) He was eventually jettisoned from the band (a couple of times actually) over contract disputes (he wouldn't sign one) and royalty battles (he reportedly wasn't paid any).
So it's safe to say that while most of us have exorcised our KISS demons (still your fault, Mom), Vinnie ... well, not so much.
According to TMZ, Vincent's 44-year-old wife Diane told the officers she escaped from the couple's Tennessee home after Vincent "smacked her in the face" following an argument about a "female subject [Vincent] was talking to." She says Vincent then "grabbed her by the hair and threw her down to the ground."
An animal services team was dispatched to look into dead dogs situation -- the wife says they were killed by another dog. Just a really, REALLY bad day at the Cusano household?
