What are the great couples costumes of the '80s?
Halloween 2010. It's closer than you think. Time to start planning those killer '80s-themed costumes. I get e-mails all the time from people asking for tips. Here's the short version of my response.
Be specific. Don't dress as a punk rocker. Be Billy Idol. And don't just be Madonna. Be Madonna from the Material Girl video. Or from Desperately Seeking Susan. (But not Madonna from Who's That Girl!)
Okay, now it's time to take it up a notch. Let's put our brains together and name some good ideas for couples costumes. Last year, Condo Girl and I went as the Blues Brothers. But even that didn't top the incredible creativity of Stuck in the '80s co-host Stephanie Hayes and her boyfriend, who pulled off Weekend at Bernies, complete with a stuffed Bernie.
So what are some other ideas? Ferris and Cameron. Lloyd Dobler and Diane Court. Wendy and Lisa. Joel and Lana from Risky Business. Add your ideas. And if you're pulled one of these off before, send a photo. We'll do another costume contest this Halloween.
