When it comes to pitying Amy Winehouse, Dee Snider ain't gonna take it
Twisted Sister's Dee Snider doesn't like keeping his mouth shut. Or his Twitter account silent. And that's why the '80s generation still loves him. Or least appreciates his candid honesty. Over the weekend, after the news broke about Amy Winehouse's death in London at age 27 (presumably a result of her battle with drug and alcohol addiction), Dee tweeted this:
"Amy Winehouse died. That's a lifestyle choice. The 87 who were murdered in Oslo Norway. That's effing tragic."
Of course, Dee's 19,000 followers on Twitter had something to say.
"Really? Your apathy is a f---ing tragedy," one person replied. Dee wasn't done: "I am anything but apathetic. Amy had the support of the world," he responded. Hard to argue with that.
On Sunday, after getting enough reassuring replies, Snider triumphantly declared: "Wow. That was a hell of a reaction to one mans opinion. 99% applauded and agreed with me. Glad I'm not the only one. I was starting to worry."
