Who's headed to John Waite's show in Clearwater?

john-waite.jpgFor all my squawking about how much I respect John Waite and as much as enjoy retelling for the 100th time the story about how he sang for me backstage once before a show here in Clearwater, I've never actually seen him perform live.

(I was too giddy to leave the friendly confines of the dressing rooms after my face-to-face encounter with him at Ruth Eckerd Hall.)

But history will correct itself this Friday night when Waite plays Clearwater's historic Capitol Theatre. The only remaining mystery: Is he doing a solo acoustic show or bringing a whole band? It's no great shakes to me; I'm happy either way. But it will probably dictate the set list.

I hope you're planning on hitting the show too. And if you do, please go back and re-listen to our Stuck in the '80s podcast interview with Waite from a few years ago. Meanwhile, here's the set list he's been performing during the UK portion of his current tour.
