WMNF celebrates New Year's Eve with songs from 1980
Hey, '80s fans in Tampa Bay. If you're looking for an appropriate way to send off 2010, check out what WMNF has planned. Tampa's community radio station is celebrating at Skipper's Smokehouse with a night of music all from the year 1980.
"WMNF goes back thirty years to the exciting time when music was changing and modern music was being born. Your favorite local bands play your favorite 1980 songs: The Reality Band as Bob Marley and the Wailers; Ted Lukas and the Misled as Bruce Springsteen; Rebekah Pulley and the Reluctant Prophets as Tom Waits; Talk To Mark as Squeeze; Sons of Hippies as Joy Division; Doll Parts as The Ramones; Brides of Chaotica as Gary Numan; Robert Wegman as XTC; Friends of Giants as The Cure, Alexander and the Grapes as Men at Work; Radio Free Carmela and the Transmitters as The Pretenders; Christee Lenee as Peter Gabriel; and KORE playing the Essential 1980 Singles."
Tickets are $25 in advance or $35 at the door. Champagne, party favors and breakfast included.
